Financial Aid
We recognize that Haven's tuition is a significant expense for many families. Through payment plans and need-based financial aid, we work toward making the Havern community accessible to children who need our support.
Parents are invited to apply for student scholarships through the Havern Tuition Assistance Fund. Havern's financial aid program, established in 1970, provides tuition assistance to a portion of qualifying families through direct tuition assistance grants and no-interest payment plans of up to 12 months.
The Financial Assistance Committee or the Board or Directors reviews each family’s unique financial situation.
Once a student has been offered and accepted a place at Havern by signing a tuition agreement and paying a deposit, the family may apply for financial assistance.
Tuition assistance funds are limited. Awards are based on the funds available, a family’s verified Adjusted Gross Income, and other relevant financial circumstances.
Families apply for financial aid through FACTS Grand and Aid and are required to submit full tax documentation for the prior tax year. The Financial Assistance Committee considers all completed applications in early May, and allocated awards based on the funds available. Financial aid awards are for one year only and the application process must be repeated each year.
Many of our families have found portions of their Havern expenses to be income tax deductible as medical expenses under IRS Publication 502. Please consult your tax professional regarding your own situation.
Havern feels deeply its obligation to be good stewards of its limited financial assistance dollars. Therefore, financial aid cannot be counted upon to enable discretionary family priorities such as vacations, asset acquisition, or other indicators of an upper income lifestyle.
