    Responsibilities:

    Plan, deliver, and amend as necessary the instructional programs

    Work closely with co-lead teacher/assistant teacher and other colleagues to ensure continuity within the grade level and from grade to grade

    Build students’ confidence and self-esteem as you come to know them as learners and individuals

    Maintain a classroom that is orderly, organized and equipped to meet the needs of the program and students, and presents a professional appearance to the community

    Communicate with families via conferences, phone conversations, and emails and teacher blogs

    Maintain student notes, anecdotal records, observations, work samples, and any appropriate assessments

    Complete student progress reports three times annually, November, March, and June

    Assume full responsibility for organizing, scheduling and leading parent-teacher-student conferences at a minimum of three times annually

    Document reports, discipline, student health and other professional correspondence as appropriate

    Attend monthly faculty meetings and other team or school-wide meetings as needed

    Take advantage of professional development opportunities and remain current on educational research and best practices

    Engage in self-assessment and work towards professional goals and professional growth

    Play an active role in the admissions process through classroom visits, observations, and events

    Participate fully in the life of the school by contributing to and attending school events, supporting advancement/development efforts, and being a representative of the school

    Promote enrollment for the school internally and externally

    Support the school and its leadership

    Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    Bachelor’s degree in special education, Master’s degree preferred

    Specific training and experience in the area of learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder

    Commitment to mission and philosophy of Havern School

    Sensitivity to intellectual, physical, and emotional needs of students

    Excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong organizational and management skills

    Experience in curriculum development, collaborative planning and team teaching

  • Havern School is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our dedicated Havern Autism Program (HAP) team for the 2024-2025 school year. This position involves working with students with learning disabilities and autism, offering specialized support that enhances our educational approach. The BCBA will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including Havern faculty, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and mental health providers, contributing unique perspectives and skills to support our instructional programs.     Responsibilities:

    Assist students in developing advocacy, healthy coping skills, and developmentally appropriate problem-solving

    Perform classroom observations of students of concern and work in conjunction with intervention specialists to develop a plan to support the student

    Make appropriate referrals outside of school for ongoing care and support; maintain a diverse list of outside referrals that meets the needs of the students with regard to race, gender identity, socioeconomic needs, etc

    Consult and liaise with outside therapists and evaluators

    Teach and participate in curriculum development for social-emotional learning and social skills classes

    Differentiate level of support based on identified needs as determined through direct knowledge and assessment of the student and in collaboration with the HAP team

    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans through data collection and analysis

    Provide crisis intervention & support

    Provide training and support to school staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators, on behavior management techniques and strategies

    Participate in the Admissions process via student observations or meetings, and feedback

    Document behavioral services for students in a timely, ethical, and legal manner

    Effectively communicate with families via conferences, phone conversations, and emails

    Consult with the team when writing student progress reports

    Take advantage of professional development opportunities and remain current on educational research and best practices

    Engage in self-assessment and work towards professional goals and professional growth

    Promote enrollment for the school internally and externally

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    A Master's degree in applied behavior analysis or related field. Active Certification and in good standing with the Behavior Analysts Certification Board

    Willingness and ability to obtain a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider License.

    2 or more years of clinical or school intervention experience; preferred candidate will have dual experience

    Direct experience working with neurodiverse ASD population.

    Knowledge and understanding of common co-occurring diagnoses and how to differentiate intervention

    Knowledge of and experience with behavior skills training, creation of behavior intervention plans, and functional behavior assessments.

    Knowledge and experience utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions (e.g., ACT) as well as some level of training or direct implementation of trauma-informed practices.

  • Havern School creates confident learners by nurturing the potential of students with neurodiverse learning profiles through the use of specialized, small-group instruction and integrated therapies.

    This position is for a speech-language pathologist at Havern School and the Havern Autism Program (HAP), serving students with learning disabilities and autism. The SLP provides services to support the instructional program through their unique contribution which complements and augments those made by other professionals who also have unique perspectives and skills. Working collegially with lower and middle school faculty, our HAP team, occupational therapists and mental health providers, is essential. This is a .8 (4 days a week) position for the 2024-2025 school year.

    Responsibilities:

    Culturally responsive and competent in working with students with neurodiverse learning profiles, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2) ages 5 to 12 with a wide range of communication needs and learning styles

    Providing high-quality direct speech-language therapy services to students within the classroom environment, in small groups, or 1:1 as needed

    Conducting comprehensive and functional assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills

    Complete evaluation reports, write functional goals, take data, and other paperwork needed to provide high quality services

    Developing treatment plans that are strength-based as well as child and family-centered for overall educational improvement

    Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders

    Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies such as visual supports, oral motor exercises, language strips, topics of conversation, and data collection

    Ensuring students’ skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with teaching teams and related service providers

    Planning for and teaching, weekly social skills classes

    Completing progress reports in a timely manner

    Communicating and coordinating with all faculty and staff to ensure school mission, philosophy, and procedures are embraced

    Attend team meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including, classroom teachers, support staff, mental health providers, RBTs, OTs, and parents

    Designing and conducting training for parents and families if needed

    Maintaining an inventory of materials, assessments, and supplies

    Maintaining appropriate, confidential, records

    Keeping abreast of best practices in speech and language therapy and language development

    Engaging parents and families in their student's learning and acting as an ambassador for the school in the community

    Collaborating with the partner speech-language pathologist at Havern

    Maintaining professional relationships with outside therapists

    Contributing productively to the school as a whole

    Attending and participating in school events outside of regular school hours

    Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    Masters in Speech-Language Pathology required

    American Speech-Language Hearing Association credentials required
