    This position is for a classroom teacher in a multi-grade classroom at Havern School, serving students with neurodiverse learning profiles. Potential openings may vary across grades 1st–8th, depending on enrollment and school needs. Havern follows a self-contained model, in which teachers are responsible for teaching all core subject areas. Instruction is delivered in small groups, with flexibility and differentiation at the core of our approach to meet each student’s unique needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, deliver, and amend as necessary the instructional programs

    • Demonstrate a flexible, solution-oriented approach when navigating changes in classroom dynamics, schedules, or team roles

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    This position is for a speech-language pathologist at Havern School and the Havern Autism Program (HAP), serving students with learning disabilities and autism. The SLP provides services to support the instructional program through their unique contribution, which complements and augments those made by other professionals who also have unique perspectives and skills. Working collegially with lower and middle school faculty, our HAP team, occupational therapists, and mental health providers, is essential. This position is a full-time week for the 2025-2026 school year.

    ABOUT HAVERN SCHOOL:

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Culturally responsive and competent in working with students with neurodiverse learning profiles, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2) ages 5 to 12 with a wide range of communication needs and learning styles

    • Providing high-quality direct speech-language therapy services to students within the classroom environment, in small groups, or 1:1 as needed

    • Conducting comprehensive and functional assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills

    • Complete evaluation reports, write functional goals, take data, and other paperwork needed to provide high quality services

    • Developing treatment plans that are strength-based as well as child and family-centered for overall educational improvement

    • Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders

    • Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies such as visual supports, oral motor exercises, language strips, topics of conversation, and data collection

    • Ensuring students’ skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with teaching teams and related service providers

    • This position is for an occupational therapist at Havern School and the Havern Autism Program (HAP), serving students with learning disabilities and autism. The OT provides services to support the instructional program through their unique contribution, which complements and augments those made by other professionals with unique perspectives and skills. Working collegially with lower and middle school faculty, our HAP team, speech-language pathologists, and the school psychologist, is essential. This is a 5 day a week position, (1) for the 2025-2026 school year, consisting of .7 for Havern and .3 for HAP. The salary range for this position is $55,000-$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience. (With the right candidate, 4 days a week could be considered) 

    • The benefits of working at an independent school include: small caseload (25-30), flexibility in determining therapeutic needs and servicing, and ease of multidisciplinary collaboration due to small setting 

    Responsibilities:

    • Providing high-quality direct occupational therapy services to students within the classroom environment, in small groups, or 1:1 as needed

    • Culturally responsive and competent in working with students with neurodiverse learning profiles, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2), ages 5 to 12 with a wide range of motor and sensory needs and learning styles

    • Collecting relevant data in the form of standardized assessments, clinical observations, parent/teacher interviews, and/or progress monitoring to determine a student’s current strengths and concerns in the areas of fine and gross motor, visual motor integration, executive functioning, and regulation skills.

    • Developing treatment plans that are strength-based, as well as child and family-centered for overall educational improvement

    • Tracking student progress in therapeutic goal areas and using this information to update treatment plans, as needed

    • Complete evaluation and end-of-year progress reports, write functional goals, take data, and other paperwork needed to provide high quality services

    • Engaging and communicating with families and caregivers in their student's therapeutic supports, progress, and learning, via email, Class Dojo, and conferencing with parents throughout the year

    • Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies such as visual supports, sensory supports, and data collection

  • One-on-One BT will provide behavioral and instructional support for a student in our K - 5th program with an autism diagnosis or similar behavior challenges. The BT will implement programming and behavior intervention based on the student’s individualized plan created by the student’s classroom teacher and BCBA. The one-on-one RBT will work mainly with one student, but also support all students in the classroom at times.

    Responsibilities

    • Work 7:45 am -3:45 pm Monday - Friday

    • Implement both skill acquisition programming and maladaptive behavior intervention to a student in a K-5th autism classroom and small groups. 

    • Know the student’s intervention plan and implement behavior responses throughout the day

    • Provide support to classroom teachers when student is struggling and needs extra support with academic work

    • Provide direction based on behavior intervention plans when new team members come on board

    • Collect consistent data on student’s behavior or academic goals

    • Regular meetings with BCBA and Classroom teacher to communicate challenges, progress and ideas

    • Complete documentation by deadlines including but not limited to data collection, client documentation, etc. 

    • Create visuals or instructional materials for student at BCBA, or teacher’s, request
