The Zarlengo Foundation Learning Evaluation Center at Havern School opened its doors in the fall of 2016. Through community research, it was found that there is a need for an evaluation center within the greater Denver area, as there is at least a three to six month long waiting list at many institutions conducting similar psychoeducational evaluations. Few of these centers are able to provide the multidisciplinary evaluations that Havern provides.
Our Learning Evaluation Center provides comprehensive psychoeducational testing, as well as speech language and occupational therapy assessments for children and adolescents who are experiencing academic difficulties within the typical school setting. A psychoeducational evaluation assesses learning difficulties and may include measures of intellectual/cognitive ability, attention, executive functioning skills, academic achievement and social/emotional skills. Additionally, the Learning Evaluation Center offers speech/language evaluations which can address concerns in the areas of expressive and receptive language, social pragmatics and articulation. Occupational therapy assessments address areas such as fine and gross motor ability, visual motor skills, handwriting and sensory concerns.
The Learning Evaluation Center at Havern School utilizes a multidisciplinary team consisting of a licensed clinical and school psychologist, speech and language pathologists and occupational therapists, all of whom work with the students at Havern School to help service and treat a wide-range of learning challenges. This multidisciplinary assessment team provides a depth of knowledge and information that would otherwise have to be obtained through separate evaluations.
Providing this service to the greater Denver metropolitan community will expand Havern School’s ability to help more students succeed in school and beyond.
