Dear Havern & HAP Families,

The first weeks of school have been filled with remarkable leadership and learning! Our students are embracing the new year with enthusiasm, and it's wonderful to see them taking pride in their achievements. The HUSKY Buck program is in full swing, and our students are excited about the recognition they're receiving for their hard work and positive actions.

I hope you can join me on September 10th at 2 p.m., just before pick-up, for a deep dive into our curriculum. I’ll be sharing insights into what we teach and answering any questions you may have. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about our approach and how we support your child’s learning journey.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to announce a special event with Craig Knippenberg on October 8th at 5:30 p.m. Craig, who started Havern’s exceptional social skills program, remains a leading expert in the neurodivergent community. We’re honored to have him, and I encourage you to attend this free event, which is open to the public. Free childcare will also be provided (see below for more info)!

Join Craig A. Knippenberg, LCSW, M.Div., international speaker and former Havern Center Consultant, as he shares insights on supporting your child’s development. Drawing from his book Wired and Connected: Brain-Based Solutions to Ensure Your Child’s Social and Emotional Success, Craig will break down easy-to-understand brain concepts that both parents and students can grasp. Discover the three key areas of your child’s social brain and learn practical strategies to foster growth, along with fun, at-home activities to try!

We're looking for room parents to support our classrooms!
Room parents help by:

Welcoming new Havern families in your class.
Organizing off-campus social events for your class.
Arranging simple, low-cost recognition for your teacher’s birthdays.
Coordinating a class project for the benefit in the spring.
Leading a day of Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9).

MEET TESS EINSTEIN,
OUR HAVERN & HAP BCBA

We are excited to welcome Tess Einstein to our school community! Tess is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a passion for enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through compassionate care and evidence-based practices. With a strong academic background and extensive experience, she specializes in creating and implementing behavior programs tailored to each child's unique needs.

Tess has worked in various settings, including schools, homes, and community programs, and she collaborates closely with families and educators to ensure comprehensive support. She is a dedicated advocate for individuals with behavioral challenges, striving to empower them and promote their inclusion in all aspects of life.

Outside of work, Tess enjoys running, exploring the outdoors with her dog, and spending time with her family. We are confident that she will make a positive impact on our students and community.
