Dear Havern & HAP Families,

We're so excited to kick off the 2024-2025 school year and couldn't be happier to have your child joining us! We're looking forward to a year filled with lots of learning, fun, and community-building. Starting a new school year brings a fresh batch of opportunities and adventures, and we can't wait to get started with all of you.

I want to remind you that there is still time to sign up for our various clubs and aftercare programs. We urge you to register your child soon to help us ensure adequate staffing and provide the best experience for all our students. Participating in these programs offers your child a wonderful opportunity to discover new interests, develop skills, and build lasting friendships. Also, please be aware that there has been a schedule change for Violin Club, which will now start on Monday, September 9th. Please update your calendars accordingly!

We look forward to seeing everyone back in the building for the first day on Wednesday! Here’s to a wonderful year ahead filled with learning, growth, and fun!

EMPOWERING OUR EDUCATORS: HAVERN & HAP STAFF DIVE INTO COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING WEEK

This week, our dedicated Havern and HAP staff participated in a variety of enriching and crucial training sessions aimed at enhancing our educational environment and ensuring safety. We began the week with "A History of Havern," which offered valuable insights into our school's rich heritage. Following this, thanks to the generous support from the benefit fundraiser last year, we introduced new Jotit tablets. Our staff completed a comprehensive training on how to best utilize these tablets in the classroom, promising to significantly enhance our tech time with the kids. Additionally, we conducted an impactful DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) training with Circle to foster an inclusive school culture. The week wrapped up with an immersive active shooter training provided by Guardian Defense, equipping our staff with the skills to handle emergencies effectively and safely. Each of these initiatives highlights our commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and dynamic learning environment for our students.

“Lucas's summer vacation was a time of exploration and learning, where he engaged in various activities that subtly enhanced his skills in reading, math, and motor development. Visiting National Parks like Zion and Bryce Canyon, Lucas marveled at the stunning landscapes and developed a deeper appreciation for unique ecosystems. His trip to Las Vegas sparked his interest in desert environments, aligning with his curiosity about history and sensory experiences. Summer camps at the Denver Zoo provided opportunities for socialization, as he bonded with peers over a shared love of animals and nature.

Family time was enriched with memorable experiences at Bear Creek Lake Park, where Lucas enjoyed paddle boarding, building sandcastles with his brother Cooper, and discovering kayaking at an adventure camp. These activities, along with numerous hikes, pool visits, and trail rides, allowed him to explore his physical and emotional needs. His outdoor adventures led to new friendships and collaborative projects like building dams in local creeks, which nurtured his teamwork and creative thinking skills. Overall, Lucas's summer was a blend of discovery, bonding, and personal growth, leaving him with cherished memories and a renewed thirst for learning.”
