Dear Havern & HAP Families,

I apologize for the lengthy email, but there is a ton of great information below that you won't want to miss. By now, you should have received communication from your child's classroom teacher, including a detailed supply list and information on how to sign up for Essential Conversations and childcare, if needed. These initial steps are crucial in ensuring a smooth start to the school year for both you and your child.

As we gear up for the first semester, there are several important sign-ups included below that require your attention. We are thrilled to offer Pizza Wednesdays along with our Early Bird and Extended Day options. Additionally, we have an exciting array of clubs this year that promise to enrich our students' experiences and learning. We encourage you to explore these opportunities and find programs that will best suit your child's interests and schedule.

Our staff's energy is at an all-time high this year, and we are all incredibly excited to welcome your children back to school. We are committed to making this a fantastic year filled with growth, learning, and fun. Of course, if you have any questions regarding the school year, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

WEDNESDAYS ARE FOR PIZZA!

It's a fun tradition at our school to offer pizza for lunch every Wednesday, for an additional fee. The first Pizza Wednesday of the year will be on August 21st. Students can choose from cheese or pepperoni, with a gluten-free option also available. Each pizza lunch will come with a packet of applesauce.

EXTENDED DAY NITTY GRITTY:

In compliance with the Colorado Child Care license, all students enrolled in Extended Day activities must be signed in and out of each activity by one of the following:

 1. A faculty/staff member supervising the program (only if the child is moving from one after school activity to another).  

2. A parent/guardian. 

3. An authorized driver/person – e.g. carpool, nanny, or grandparent. The authorization must be on file in writing with the school prior to the student’s release.

If your child is not picked up by 5:30PM, a late penalty of $10.00 per 15-minute increment will be charged to the parent/guardian.

EARLY BIRD:
DROP OFF BETWEEN 7:30 - 8AM

Available Monday - Friday for all students
Begins August 19th

Students MUST BE walked into the school and signed into the
Early Bird Program by their parent/guardian or authorized person. 

$7 per day, billed monthly

EXTENDED DAY:
PICK UP BETWEEN 3 - 4PM

Available Monday - Friday, for all students
Begins August 14th

We have combined Variety Club and Homework Club to bring you this fun extended day option. Students will have the opportunity to participate in
play-oriented activities or the older students can work on homework.

You may register your child at a rate of $13 per hour, billed monthly.

EXTENDED DAY:
PICK UP BETWEEN 4 - 5:30PM

Available Monday - Friday, for all students
Begins August 14th

Same as above, but later pickup.
You may register your child at a rate of $13 per hour, billed monthly.

“AS NEEDED” CARE

Havern offers "As needed" care for the Monday-Friday
Early Bird and Extended Day activities. This option requires Havern School to be notified prior to attendance. Notification is needed no later than the day-of for aftercare and 3:00 p.m. the day prior for before care.  While “as needed” is always an option, please consider a regular/consistent schedule.  This helps ensure there is the correct number of supervising adults per number of students as required by Colorado Childcare licensing.

CLUB NITTY GRITTY:

Each club is $225.00 per semester.
When registering for any of these clubs you are responsible for full payment, as that space is reserved to your child.

When picking up, please come to the parking garage door to sign out your student. If an authorized driver has not signed your student out of club, your student will be escorted to and signed into the Extended Day Program and you will be charged the hourly rate.

VIOLIN CLUB

Mondays from 3 - 4pm for grades 3rd - 8th only
Starts August 19th

The Violin Club at Havern School offers students in grades 3rd through 8th the opportunity to explore the world of music through the violin, fostering both individual skill and ensemble teamwork. Weekly sessions focus on technique, musicality, and performance, nurturing a love for music in a supportive and engaging environment.

Instructor from the Denver Young Artists Orchestra (DYAO)
and supported by a Havern staff member.

Instruments will be provided.
Enrollment is limited to 10 students. 

LEGO CLUB

Tuesdays from 3 - 4pm for all students
Starts August 20th

Hello Lego Maniacs! Don’t be a lonely builder at home in your room, when you can belong to a dynamic group of builders at school! During Lego Club students are directed and inspired to build with Legos in many different ways. Not only do we build Lego kits… but students learn to team build, shadow build, create Lego mosaics, and STEAM Lego challenges.

All Lego kits and bricks provided. Come join the fun!

YOGA CLUB

Tuesdays from 3 - 4pm for all students
Starts August 20th

Yoga Club offers a peaceful retreat to enhance their physical flexibility, mental focus, and emotional balance. Through engaging yoga sessions, students learn breathing techniques, poses, and mindfulness practices that support their overall well-being and academic performance.

Instructor: Kathleen Martins from Guided by Humanity Yoga
and supported by a Havern staff member.

ART CLUB

Wednesdays from 3 - 4pm for all students
Starts August 21st

Need a little more paint? Then the Art Club is for you. During Art Club, students will experience inspired projects that allow for open ended creation and imagination. Students will be exposed to diverse materials and new techniques to further their art knowledge. Art Club also offers monthly makerspace. During makerspace days students will be allowed to create independently with given monthly themed materials.

SOCCER CLUB

Wednesdays from 3 - 4pm, for students in rooms 140, 220 and 222
Starts August 21st

Soccer Club provides an exciting opportunity for students to enhance their soccer skills, learn teamwork, and foster a spirit of sportsmanship. Each session emphasizes fundamental skills, gameplay, and physical fitness, all while enjoying the camaraderie of peers in a supportive environment.

Enrollment is limited to 8 students.

SEWING CLUB

Thursdays from 3 - 4pm for students at least 46” in height
(so they can reach the pedal)
Starts August 22nd

Come join the stitchers and crafters and create fiber inspired designs. Students will learn to operate sewing machines along with many different hand sewing and embroidery techniques. Students will make fun, functional, playful or classic sewing projects. No experience in fiber arts needed- all students are welcome to come and create!

DRAMA CLUB

Fridays from 3 - 4pm for all students
Starts August 23rd

Actors, Singers and Dancers…… Oh My! More than just a microphone on a stage…. Drama Club is a place for students to dive deeply into expression, stage presense, and character. The students in Drama Club will also be the cast of actors for the fall musical, HATS! All scripts and costumes for the fall musical will be provided but the students will have to practice their lines outside of club time. Club attendance is required in order for the students to memorize the script, learn songs, and dance.
