Our Students: From Kindergarten to Middle School, to the World Beyond
The Havern student body is a bright and lively group of elementary and middle school-age children with a diverse set of learning profiles. Their learning challenges include learning disabilities in reading, mathematics, and writing. Some students have a medical diagnosis or syndrome that impacts learning. Many Havern students need to strengthen their skills in areas such as attention, planning, studying and organizing.
Havern students are also diverse in their specific abilities, challenges, talents and affinities. We have students who struggle with reading and writing, while excelling in math, computers and the visual arts. Others do well in writing and social studies and climbing the rock wall, while struggling with mathematics and science.

We welcome students with learning disorders including:
- Expressive language disorder
- Receptive language disorder
- Specific learning disorder in math (dyscalculia)
- Specific learning disorder in writing (dysgraphia)
- Specific learning disorder in reading (dyslexia)
And learning difficulties related to:
- Executive functioning
- Processing speed
- Working memory
- Gross and fine motor skills.
