The following steps are required parts of our admissions procedure, although some exceptions may be made based on your child’s age and profile:
Phase 1: Explore – We welcome your interest in our Havern community, and while printed materials provide you with an introduction, there is no substitute for visiting campus and experiencing the Havern community firsthand. We invite you to call for a personal tour to experience what makes Havern truly unique, as well as to share about your child’s unique educational needs with our Director of Admissions, Nancy Mann.
Phase 2: Apply – Complete and submit the following: Application for Admission with nonrefundable processing fee, psychoeducational evaluation completed within the last two years, child’s most recent report card and individual learning plan, Teacher Evaluation form.
Phase 3: Visit Havern – If moving on to this phase, the Director of Admissions will schedule classroom visiting day(s) for your child. A child’s evaluation results are only one of a number of items that are given consideration during the admission process. Havern is equally concerned with a child as a person as with a child as a student.
The best time to apply for admission to Havern is during the late fall preceding the school year for which you desire to enroll your child at Havern. This will ensure plenty of time to complete the admission process. However, we do offer rolling admissions.
Havern will notify parents about an admission decision soon after the child’s visiting day. After March, all applications are reviewed on a “rolling” basis and are subject to available space. The Admissions Office can provide specifics about the availability of space in a given grade level.
